ESBF offers its first victory of the season to the red lantern of D1 / LBE

It is a huge failure for handball players in Bisontine! Less than seventy-two hours after the slap (38-30) received by the Hungarians of Mosonmagyarovari at the opening of the Group Stage of the European League, the ESBF also lost this Wednesday evening. And even worse, at home, facing Fleury-Loiret, the red lantern of the French championship which had lost … all its matches this season before this 11th day of D1 / Ligue Butagaz Energie!

A defeat (21-25, half-time 11-10) at the Palais des Sports in Besançon, for players of Sebastien Mizoule which speaks squarely of “malpractice”, in a very cold anger after this production more than approximate and not far from catastrophic – double euphemism – offensively in particular (17 losses of balls, including 12 in the first period!), against an opponent who was however rather weak … but carried by a goalkeeper on fire: 16 stops by Ditte Vind, the Danish!

The European Cup is already back, this Saturday against the Norwegian Sola

The ESBF thus misses the opportunity to integrate the Top 4 of the ranking and even slips from one place, to 6th row, doubled by Nantes now 4th by two points …

According to the established formula, a very eagerly awaited reaction, from this Saturday (January 15, 6 p.m.), during the 2nd day of the Group stage of the European League: against the Norwegians of Sola (whose match of the 1st day was postponed because of cases of Covid among their Croatian opponents), with in their goals, a certain Tonje lerstad… the future goalkeeper of the ESBF for the next two seasons, from July 2022.

The Bisontines will thus continue the second of their four consecutive home games in the space of ten days (also receptions from Celles-sur-Belles, on January 19 and Croats from Lokomotiva Zagreb, on January 22).
