exo’s Mascouche, Candiac and Mont-St-Hilaire commuter train lines could disappear

Three exo commuter train lines in the Montreal area could disappear to be replaced by a bus service. This is a scenario being examined by the Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain (ARTM) in order to save money. The information, first revealed by Radio-Canada, was confirmed by Duty.

This scenario was reportedly submitted to the board of directors. Citing a document dated August 29, Radio-Canada states that removing the least busy train lines, namely Mascouche, Candiac and Mont-St-Hilaire, and replacing them with buses would generate savings of approximately $21 million per year.

Further details will follow.
