Murder in July in Terrebonne | First suspect arrested

(Terrebonne) One of the two suspects wanted in the wake of a murder that occurred this summer in Terrebonne, Lanaudière, was arrested last week in Ontario. The second suspect in this case remains on the run.


The Sûreté du Québec announced Tuesday evening that Emmanuel Mbong Bougha, wanted for the murder of Maxime Jean on July 18 in a park in Terrebonne, was arrested last Friday in Durham, Ontario.

The 24-year-old suspect appeared in court for the first time by videoconference, before being transported to Quebec for further proceedings. His case will return to court on Wednesday at the Laval courthouse.

The second suspect in this case, Nickolace Denis-Fouché, aged 22, is still wanted by the provincial police force.

On July 18, Maxime Jean, who was 22 years old, was seriously injured in a park located on rue Marcel-De La Sablonnière, in Terrebonne.

He was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he died five days later.

The Sûreté du Québec is asking anyone who might see Nickolace Denis-Fouché not to intervene and instead to contact 911.
