The Oslo tourist office has a great sense of humor. Its latest advertising campaign urges tourists not to visit the Norwegian capital, a small, uninteresting city on a human scale where everything is very accessible.
It features Halfdan, a resident of Oslo, who speaks with great cynicism about the disadvantages of his city: you can swim right in the centre – oh, disgusting.
Oslo is like a village, you meet the Prime Minister on a street corner, and then walking a little further, well, you can even meet the King of Norway. And to cross Oslo on foot, from one end to the other, it takes 30 minutes, try that in New York or Paris!
Culture? If you don’t queue for a few hours to get into a museum, is it really worth going? (We see the picture The cry by Munch.)
This ad is downright funny and successful, so much so that it has caught the attention of the whole world!
