(Paris) The wife of the French president plays herself: Brigitte Macron makes a brief appearance in an episode of the hit series Emily in Parisbroadcast from Thursday on Netflix, reveals the magazine She Tuesday.
The “first lady of France” appears “in her own clothes, without any particular dress instructions having been given to her”, the publication further specifies, which Netflix confirmed to AFP.
On Thursday, the second part of the fourth season will be released online on the platform streaming.
“The idea for the cameo came to us when Darren Star (the show’s creator) and I met her at the Élysée in December 2022,” confides Lily Collins, star ofEmily in ParisIn She.
“She’s a huge fan of the show and she took the reference to her character in season 1 with great humor. This scene in season 4 is a nod, and filming with her was both an honor and a real pleasure.”
Regarding Brigitte Macron’s interpretation, Darren Star just says in She : “She does it with talent!”
Since its launch in 2020, the series has been raging audiences and making headlines. There are those who love it, who hate it and who love to hate.
Emily in Paris was notably criticized at its beginnings in France for perpetuating a fantasy about the City of Light which has a hard life, from the beret to the “bon vivant” Frenchman, or for presenting a sanitized capital, very, sometimes too, “instagrammable”.
