Consumption: inflation slowing down

Have the prices on the shelves become more reasonable? In a supermarket in Issy-les-Moulineaux (Hauts-de-Seine), it’s all a question of feeling. A retired nurse, for example, has noticed a slight drop in prices on certain products. Particularly on coffee. “Two years ago, it was between 12 and 13 euros. It suddenly went up to 15 euros, I said to myself ‘hey, that’s a change’ and now it’s at 14 euros. I’m a little optimistic about the price drop.”she confides.

The store management confirms: prices are no longer increasing. For some, they are decreasing: -8% for the store’s brand of pasta compared to the beginning of summer, -12% for ham and -10% for eggs. However, another customer, she sees no difference. “Lasagna costs 2.46 euros, it has increased”she believes.
