The Palestinian Red Crescent announced on Thursday, September 5, that five people had been killed and another “seriously injured” in an attack on a car in Tubas, in the northern occupied West Bank. The Israeli army confirmed that it had carried out a raid in this area of Tubas. It explained that it was behind “three targeted strikes against armed terrorists who posed a threat” for his soldiers. Strikes in the Gaza Strip continue. An overnight Israeli strike killed four people sheltering in tents near the al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, a medical source told AFP on Thursday. The Israeli army claims to have targeted “a command center” used by Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants in Deir al-Balah. Further south in the Gaza Strip, in the al-Mawasi area, a missile killed one person and injured several others, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported.

Nearly 200 000 Children vaccinated against polio in Gaza. The first phase of the polio vaccination campaign in Gaza ended successfully on Wednesday, with some 187,000 children receiving their first dose in the central Palestinian territory, the World Health Organization announced on Wednesday. The WHO is continuing its campaign on Thursday in the south of the territory, where it estimates it will vaccinate 340,000 children over four days. Between September 9 and 11, the organization will move to northern Gaza.
