Their return is expected. The two rugby players, Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou, charged with aggravated rape in Argentina, left Buenos Aires last night.

They took their plane last night to Paris. The two French rugby players have been back in Paris since Wednesday, September 4. Their lawyer spoke in front of the cameras to explain that their situation “should never have happened and no complaints should have been filed.” Still charged, the 21-year-old internationals must remain at the disposal of the Argentine justice system.

Still in shock, the complainant spoke on condition of anonymity: “He grabbed my neck, he put me on the bed, he undressed me like an animal.” The facts, which allegedly took place in a hotel in Mendoza last July, remain presumed. The players, for their part, speak of consensual relations after an evening in a bar and then in a nightclub. Stade Rochelais, Oscar Jegou’s Club, reaffirms its support for the players. According to the Mendoza prosecutor’s office, the accusation has lost its force. The two players have filed a request for dismissal which should be examined soon.
