Para-athletics | Greg Stewart defends Paralympic shot put title

(Paris) Canadian Greg Stewart won the gold medal in the shot put at the Paris Paralympic Games.

The 38-year-old British Columbian threw 16.38 metres to win the men’s F46 title at the Stade de France.

The representative of the maple leaf thus successfully defended his title acquired at the Tokyo Paralympic Games three years ago.

Stewart made his winning throw on his second attempt in the final.

The seven-foot-two giant announced his retirement after Tokyo, but made a comeback as he missed competing.

Stewart, who was born without a left forearm, won silver at the world championships in Kobe, Japan, earlier this year.
