thorny issues on the Matignon desk

The name of Gabriel Attal’s successor is still unknown. But a first emergency is already on his desk at Matignon: the finance budget which must be presented before October 1st. A schedule that is almost impossible to keep. The Élysée could postpone the text. The budgetary procedure requires a prior passage through an administrative phase, with the opinion of the Council of State and that of the High Council of Public Finances.

Another important bill is the one on the end of life, which included assistance in dying. But with the dissolution of the National Assembly last June, the examination of the text is suspended after months of discussion. It will therefore be necessary to start from scratch, to the great displeasure of the associations. The agricultural orientation law and unemployment insurance, the rules of which must be reviewed before October 31, are also part of the other projects of the future Prime Minister.
