The bodies of four men and two women, aged 23 to 32, were found in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, August 31. They had been captured alive during the Hamas attack in Israel on October 7, 2023. Five of them were present at the Nova festival. Among them was an Israeli-American hostage, Hersh Goldberg-Polin. On Friday, his parents were at the border in Gaza to demonstrate for the release of the captives.

According to the army, the remains of the six hostages were discovered in tunnels. The prisoners were reportedly killed during the week by Hamas. On Sunday morning, Joe Biden announced that the negotiations for a ceasefire must go all the way. “It’s time to end it”he added. In Israel, the families of the remaining 101 captives accused the prime minister in a statement of abandoning them.
