Prisoner Escape | Tamusi Angiyou Returns to Federal Training Center in Laval

(Laval) An inmate who escaped from prison has been back at the Federal Training Centre in Laval since 7:45 a.m. Saturday morning, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) said in a brief statement.

“Tamusie Angiyou, who escaped from the minimum security unit of the Federal Training Centre last night, is now back in the institution,” the CSC announced Saturday, around 10 a.m., on the social network X and on its Facebook page.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) has not specified whether the 51-year-old man, who was the subject of an arrest warrant, was arrested by police or whether he surrendered to authorities.

Tamusie Angiyou was in the minimum security unit when staff noticed her missing during an inmate count at 10:45 p.m. Friday.

The Laval Police Department (SPL) and the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) were notified by the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC).

Tamusie Angiyou was serving a sentence for second-degree murder, kidnapping, use of a firearm and sexual assault.

What was considered an “escape” by the Correctional Service of Canada is the subject of an internal investigation. The Sûreté du Québec is also conducting its own investigation.

“The safety of the population, staff and institutions remains the top priority for those responsible for operations in the federal correctional system,” states a CSC press release.
