PGA Tour Championship | Scottie Scheffler leads by four after 66

(Atlanta) Scottie Scheffler wowed again from tee to green en route to a 66 on Friday to take a four-shot lead at the PGA Tour Championship.

The second round brought a sense of urgency to his pursuers.

Collin Morikawa had nine birdies, including two on the final two holes, after a 93-minute delay due to bad weather. He shot an eight-under-par 63.

On his last two holes, Xander Schauffele sank 12-foot putts – one for par, one for birdie – to card a 64.

Scheffler is at minus 21, ahead of Morikawa (minus 17) and Schauffele (minus 16).

The FedEx Cup leader, Scheffler entered the final tournament of the season with a two-shot lead.

He’s playing top-notch golf, and those following him haven’t done anything exceptional in the first round. That explains why Scheffler had a seven-shot lead going into the day.

After the break due to bad weather, he added two birdies on his last three holes.

No one else is within nine moves of Scheffler.

The challenge for him is to win the trophy and the $25 million purse, something he has failed to do as a favorite in the last two years.

He looks comfortable on the revamped East Lake course.

Canadian Taylor Pendrith is in 10e place after a 69.

He had four birdies in five holes on the front nine, but he also made four bogeys in the second half of the course.
