The start of the school year is fast approaching, so some French people are enjoying a last sunbath and a last dip in the sea. Report from Carnon, in Hérault.

Some people are planning to enjoy the holidays until the end, this Friday, August 30 in Carnon, in Hérault. For an Alsatian family, it is the last morning before leaving. “We’re going to stay until the last second, enjoy ourselves, feel like we’re the last ones and savor the moment.”confides the mother.

Others are still busy building sandcastles. They plan to stretch out their vacation as much as possible, even if it means going back “Sunday, at the last moment”as one holidaymaker explains. Just a stone’s throw from the beach, the campsite is full of departures: around sixty this Friday, and double that number on Saturday. “The children want to go back to school, we would have liked to stay a little longer”admits a father. Some, however, plan to take a last dip in the pool.
