19-year-old woman to be tried in immediate appearance on Thursday

An 11-year-old minor, present at the time of the events, will appear before a juvenile judge. The doctor claims to have “been hit in the face, pulled by the hair, bitten in the back and punched.”

The assault had caused a stir among residents of the Viste district of Marseille. A 19-year-old woman will be tried in immediate appearance on Thursday, August 29 for the assault of a general practitioner in her office located in the northern districts of the city in mid-August, the prosecutor’s office announced on Wednesday. An 11-year-old minor, also present at the time of the incident, will appear before a juvenile judge on a date not specified by the prosecutor’s office, which has requested “a provisional judicial measure” concerning her.

On August 12, these two people had come to the office to request a prescription for the benefit of a third party. After initially agreeing, the doctor changed her mind after consulting the patient’s medical file and threw the prescription in the trash. The two young girls then tried to get it back. In opposing this, the doctor claims to have “was hit in the face, pulled by the hair, bitten in the back and punched”the prosecution said in its press release, indicating that she benefited from a total work interruption (ITT) of three days.

During their interviews with the police, the two accused admitted to an altercation but presented a version with “elements of divergence”, still according to the prosecution. According to this same source, the 19-year-old woman is known to the courts for a criminal record of violence with a weapon. The prosecution says it will request that she be placed in pretrial detention.
