Peppers, rare spices… Manu Payet is proud to present his precious collections that are stored in his refrigerator. They all come from Reunion Island, where the actor is from. Some were made in an artisanal way by friends: “Every time I come to Reunion, people tell me: ‘Manu, that pepper, honestly, he deserves to go to jail’.”
Among the delicacies in the fridge, we find the famous bottarga, also called “the caviar of the Mediterranean”. “It’s expensive… That’s why I have a tiny piece of it,” admits Manu Payet. And to put everyone in agreement, for this father, nothing beats a can of tuna in olive oil, a real treat according to him: “That’s the basis, and then when you have children… In case, if there’s a little conflict, homework where I don’t know what, I say ‘well…’ and I do that, I wave it like that under her nose. And there, she gets 20/20.”
