On the set of the JT of France 2, Jean Castex announced Monday, January 10 a new protocol applying to cases of Covid-19 at school. In the event of a positive pupil, the pupils will now be able to make do with a self-test to be repeated twice. This relaxation does not change the opinion of the 75% of primary school teachers, who threaten to strike Thursday, January 13.

Three protocol changes in one week for elementary schools. On Monday January 10, the government announced the need for three self-tests for contact case students. What to simplify the life of some parents of pupils. It will be more practical for doing the tests (…) there is no need to move around, to queue endlessly “, says one of them. For other parents, the protocol is still too complicated.

Since Monday, January 10, students with contact cases are no longer obliged to instantly leave the establishment, but can wait for their parents to arrive at the end of the day. They must then perform three self-tests, each two days apart. Only a sworn certificate is requested from parents by the teaching team. The teachers’ unions are not content with this relaxation and deplore the difficulties they face regarding the management of the pandemic in the classroom.
