Anti-Semitic acts have increased by “almost 200%” in France since the beginning of the year, says Gérald Darmanin

The resigning Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, denounced on Sunday August 25 on France 2 a “despicable anti-Semitic act” about the fire in front of the synagogue in La Grande-Motte on Saturday, and stated that‘”he “There is almost a 200% increase” anti-Semitic acts in France since January 1. Gérald Darmanin finally spoke about the state of the terrorist threat, three days before the start of the Paralympic Games, whose opening ceremony will take place on Wednesday. He affirmed that there was “no particular threat” for the Paralympics, while recalling that the authorities have thwarted three projects “violent actions” aiming for the Olympic Games.
