The director of ceremonies for the Paris Olympics, Thierry Reboul, said: “confident”, Sunday, August 25, as for the release in stores and on platforms of the original music of the Games, composed by Victor Le Masne. Musician, producer and arranger, Victor Le Masne is notably the author of the Olympic anthem, Parade, mixing pop, symphony orchestra, choirs and electro loops typical of the French Touch, heard in particular during the opening ceremony on July 26.

“Given the success of this ceremony, there is a real desire to be able to relive it,” Thierry Reboul stressed to the press, alongside the composer once again at work for the opening of the Paralympic Games on Wednesday August 28.

For the release of the original music by Victor Le Masne, “We are quite confident that we will get there,” he assured. On the other hand, “on the ability to bring out the sung part, from different artists, it’s more complicated but we’re on it.” The opening ceremony featured covers of French songs by Lady Gaga, Aya Nakamura and Celine Dion for The hymn to love.

According to Thierry Reboul, “The legal status of music is not always very simple, nor is that of the IOC (International Olympic Committee, Editor’s note), it takes a little time, unfortunately.”

While waiting for this possible release of an Olympic soundtrack, the listening of the original tracks covered by the artists on July 26 has jumped on the listening platforms. The next day, The hymn to love, Edith Piaf’s standard, had notably climbed to +426% for France and +497% in total worldwide on Spotify, the world leader in music platforms.
