A knife-wielding man stabbed people at random on Friday, August 23, in Solingen, Germany. Three people were killed, eight were injured.

A man sowed terror by stabbing people in the city center of Solingen (Germany), Friday, August 23. According to investigators, the attacker systematically struck his victims in the neck or throat. For a festival celebrating the city’s anniversary, thousands of people were present. After a crowd movement, the organizer abruptly stopped the music and ordered the spectators not to panic. Taking advantage of the confusion, the author of the attack disappeared after killing three people and injuring eight, four of them seriously.
“We are still shocked, I cried even though we are safe and sound”laments a spectator present at the scene during the tragedy. All day, investigators combed the crime scene. A 15-year-old teenager was arrested. He is said to have been in contact with the main suspect, whose identity remains unknown. The manhunt continues Saturday, August 24, but the authorities ask residents to remain cautious if they have to travel in the city center.
