He was untouchable. Dominant, Lando Norris set the best time in qualifying for the Dutch Grand Prix on Saturday 24 August, securing his third pole position of the season. Battling with Max Verstappen (RedBull), the McLaren driver set the best time in Q3 on his last lap, depriving the Dutchman of a fourth consecutive pole on the Zandvoort circuit.

Australian Oscar Piastri (McLaren) completes the podium and will start on the second row on Sunday (3 p.m.), alongside George Russell (Mercedes).

More surprisingly, Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), like Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), winner of the last Grand Prix in Belgium, were eliminated in Q2. Both drivers will start from the sixth row, in 11th and 12th position respectively.

Just ahead of them, Frenchman Pierre Gasly will start from 10th place. His teammate at Alpine, Esteban Ocon, had a more contrasting qualifying session. Eliminated in Q1, the Norman will start in 17th position. I don’t know what happened in this session, the car has been a disaster since the start of the weekend.”the man who will join the Haas team in 2025 told his radio station.

It should be noted that Williams driver Logan Sargeant did not line up for qualifying because his car was undergoing repairs. Earlier in the day, the American driver was the victim of a spectacular accident during the third and final free practice session.
