Marseille rapper Naps, indicted for “rape” and “sexual assault”, was placed in pre-trial detention on Thursday, August 22 for failure to comply with two obligations of his judicial supervision, franceinfo learned on Friday, August 23 from the Toulon prosecutor’s office, confirming information from Le Parisien. The rapper did not respect his ban on going to Marseille and did not pay his bail.

Naps was indicted on August 4 for “rape and sexual assault” after complaints from three young adult women in the Var. The three complainants were in the same hotel as the rapper when he was arrested on August 2 in Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer. The rapper denies these accusations.

The rapper is also suspected of raping a young woman in a Parisian hotel in September 2021. The Paris prosecutor’s office had indicted him for “rape” in October 2021. He had, there too, been placed under judicial supervision. In this Parisian case, the artist also rejects the accusations against him.
