A shooting broke out in Échirolles, near Grenoble, in Isère, on the evening of Wednesday, August 21. The gangs are engaged in a turf war for drug dealing locations.
In a district of Échirolles, near Grenoble (Isère), the lookouts have already returned, Thursday August 22. The day before, a shootout broke out on an avenue in the town. A man was injured by bullets, probably the victim of a settling of scores. The inhabitants of the district are torn between fear and anger. However, not far from there, the police launched an operation, Wednesday August 21 in the evening, to try to destabilize drug trafficking.
Grenoble is under fire from traffickers, with seven shootings in a few weeks. A man died in the Teisseire district at the beginning of August when other shootings took place in La Luire, then in Échirolles. The gangs are engaged in a turf war for control of the drug dealing points. Faced with this violence, the mayor of Échirolles, Amandine Demore, is asking for police reinforcements. The Ministry of the Interior has announced the dispatch to Grenoble of a specialized section of the CRS8.
