Kim Jong-un forbids copying his daughter’s style

The North Korean dictator is threatening forced labor for anyone who wears the same clothes or has the same haircut as his 11-year-old daughter, who is likely to succeed him.

In mid-March, as she does more and more often, the young Kim Ju Ae appears alongside her father at an official ceremony in Pyongyang. This time, the schoolgirl has abandoned her Christian Dior down jackets and teenage T-shirts. She is wearing a dark purple shirt, strict but elegant, with airy and slightly transparent sleeves. Her hair is neat, hair tied high above her forehead, the North Koreans call it the rooster hairstyle.

In a country where any fancy dress is banned by the regime, young girls immediately develop a passion for transparent sleeves and the rooster hairstyle, which become the latest fashion trend.

But if Kim Ju Ae can dress however she wants, there is no question of the people imitating her. Radio Free Asia reports that a video has been broadcast across the country in which the authorities explain that ““the rooster’s hairstyle” and the ““clothes that show skin” are practices”antisocialists” which have a negative impact on society and which must therefore be “eradicated”North Korean women face three to six months of forced labor or re-education in prison.

A few years ago, the dictator (who seems to have given up on extreme hair experiments) banned leather clothing, which was reserved for the Supreme Leader’s family only. Since last year, it has also been forbidden to give a girl the name Kim Ju-ae. This is a further sign that she is destined to succeed her father.

Deciphering Kim Jong-ue’s intentions in a state as locked down as North Korea is an inexact science, but South Korean intelligence is now convinced of it. Kim Jong-un, a heavy smoker, obese, suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure, is preparing his succession: his daughter is well and truly being groomed to take over the country.

Since her first appearance in November 2022 at a ballistic missile launch site, she has participated in most major public and military events. State media refer to her as the “child”the most loved” And “the most respected” (we never saw the other two).

It is even described as “morning star of korea”probably representative, therefore, of the fourth generation of the Kim dynasty, the only communist dynasty in the world, which since her great-grandfather at the founding of the country in 1948 has only been embodied by men.
