Since the Olympic Games, the justice system has been in turmoil. To avoid congestion due to the influx of tourists, it has been decided to increase staff numbers.

Unlike the athletes, their marathon will last three months, at the service of the criminal justice system. During the Games, the Parisian justice system is strengthened, with three times more staff than normal. Exceptionally, France Télévision was able to follow the daily life of a court, in turmoil. On the desks of the public prosecutor’s office, dozens of new cases fall every day. This is the backlash of the Games: more tourists often means more crime, and more trials.

Nicolas Barret, a magistrate who usually deals with major financial criminals, has been recalled to ensure immediate appearances. “We’re all shooting”he confirms. A few days earlier, France Télévisions filmed the trials, and noted clues to Olympic activity, including atypical cases. Among these, that of three South Americans who arrived in France a few days before the Games, arrested while stealing a tourist’s backpack in a restaurant.
