Montreal North | Man injured in armed assault

An 18-year-old man was injured in the upper body by a sharp object during a conflict that reportedly escalated in the borough of Montréal-Nord. His condition is still unknown, says the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).


Around 7 p.m. Sunday evening, a call was made to 911 regarding a person injured with a sharp object near the intersection of rue de Dijon and avenue P.-M. Flavier, in the borough of Montréal-Nord.

When the police arrived on the scene, they located the victim: he is an 18-year-old man, conscious and injured in the upper body by a sharp object. He was transported to hospital.

“We are currently waiting to see his state of health,” said officer Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the SPVM.

According to initial reports, a conflict escalated between the victim and the suspect(s) – the latter having fled before the arrival of the police.

“There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is continuing,” added Caroline Chèvrefils.

A perimeter was set up to protect the scene so that investigators and forensic technicians could analyze it and try to understand the exact circumstances of this event. Witnesses were also interviewed by the police.
