Vasily Podkolzin traded from Canucks to Oilers for fourth-round pick

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Oilers acquired forward Vasily Podkolzin from the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday night.


In return, the Alberta team gave up the Ottawa Senators’ fourth-round pick in the 2025 draft.

Podkolzin had 18 goals and 17 assists in 37 games during his three seasons with the Canucks.

The 23-year-old Russian made his playoff debut this year when he played two games against the Oilers in the second round.

Podkolzin was drafted in 10th placee ranked by the Canucks in 2019.

The Oilers acquired the Senators’ fourth-round pick and forward Roby Jarventie last July in exchange for forwards Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson.

With this trade, the Canucks now have seven selections for the 2025 draft.
