France 2 is changing its programming and will broadcast “Le Samouraï” and “La Piscine” on Sunday evening.

The group’s other channels will also broadcast Alain Delon’s major films, starting with “Plein Soleil” (1960) on France 3 on Monday evening.

A way of paying tribute to the cinema monument Alain Delon, who died on Sunday August 18 at the age of 88. France 2 is changing its programming, starting Sunday evening, to broadcast two legendary films by the actor, The Samurai And The Swimming Poolannounces France Télévisions. “France Télévisions pays tribute to Alain Delon, an immense actor, a true sacred monster with a remarkable filmography, rich in nearly 80 films, numerous masterpieces and popular successes”the group said in a statement.

From 9 p.m., France 2 will broadcast The Samurai (1967), a masterpiece by Jean-Pierre Melville in which Alain Delon plays a hitman, then at 10:55 p.m. The Swimming Pool (1969), an incandescent film which sealed his reunion on screen with his former partner, Romy Schneider.

The group’s other channels will also broadcast Alain Delon’s major films, starting with Full Sun (1960) on France 3 Monday evening, a feature film by René Clément which revealed the actor to the general public. Mr. Klein (1976) by Joseph Losey, particularly dear to the actor’s heart who was also the producer, will be broadcast on France 5 on Friday evening in prime time.
