The Lorient Interceltic Festival, the largest gathering of Celts in the world, celebrates its cultures between tradition and modernity

After the harp conferences, the children’s parade and the presentation of the Celtic music trophy, three groups of musicians took over the Quai de la Bretagne. The Beat Bouet Trio offered a sound on the border between Breton dance music and hip-hop. A revisited Breton ball, infused with US rap with committed lyrics. The Scottish violinist, singer and composer Isla Ratcliff was also on stage, accompanied by a guitarist and a pianist. Finally, the Mox made Breton music resonate mixed with jazz sounds.

This Sunday, August 18, the last day of these festivities, the program is eclectic. From Celtic brunches to Irish dances to Celtic athletic sports championships, there is something for everyone. In the evening, the Ramble Ditties will take the audience to the pubs of the West of Ireland, to the sounds of warm instruments. The Kleub, the Celtic music venue, will host three musical proposals with contemporary sounds until 1:30 in the morning, such as Radio Tutti & Barilla Sisters (modern baleti), the Celtic rock of the Vrillés and the DJ Llevólu’l Sumiciu.
