She did not want to remain passive. A woman filed a complaint on Wednesday, August 14, after an altercation with a man who was uttering anti-Semitic insults against passengers on line 9 of the Paris metro, franceinfo learned, confirming information from BFMTV.

An investigation has been opened into charges of “intentional violence without total incapacity for work due to religion” and “public apology for a crime or offence”, the Paris prosecutor’s office said. The investigation has been entrusted to the railway network brigade of the regional transport security.

“I got on the subway. I had my headphones on. But I heard, above the music, this man. He started insulting people. He was attacking a Jewish family. A young girl and her parents. He even spat on the father. He attacked me too.”explained the young woman to BFMTV. “It was impossible for me not to react. Even though I was very scared.”she added.

In a video shared nearly 1,000 times on social media, the man can be heard calling passengers “bunch of bastards” and of “youpins”also blaming them for “crimes against humanity” and of “killing children.” Hitler was right !”he also said. “Hey stop, I I will file a complaint against you!”threatens the woman filming the video, before the man spits in her direction. “What shocked me was that no one intervened. The man sat down again at one point and no one said anything.”she also adds.

The Paris police prefecture had indicated on X, Thursday, that it had “read this video” and immediately reported the facts to the Paris public prosecutor. The police prefect, Laurent Nunez, had declared on the social network that he did not doubt “not a single second” that its workforce challenges “quickly this individual”.
