Emmanuel Macron invites the presidents of the parliamentary groups and the party leaders on August 23 to the Elysée, before appointing a Prime Minister

The President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, invited the presidents of the parliamentary groups of the National Assembly and the Senate as well as the leaders of the parties represented in Parliament to the Elysée on August 23, France Télévisions learned from the Elysée. Objective of this “exchange series” : “Continue to move towards the formation of the broadest and most stable majority possible.”

“During the legislative elections, the French people expressed a desire for change and broad unity. In a spirit of responsibility, all political leaders must work to implement this desire.”adds the Elysée. “The appointment of a Prime Minister will take place following these consultations and their conclusions.” A month and a half after the second round of legislative elections, Emmanuel Macron has not yet named a new government.
