More than a month after the end of the legislative elections, France still does not know the name of its future Prime Minister. Gabriel Attal, for his part, launched the idea of a republican pact in the Assembly. In his letter, however, he ignored the Insoumis and the RN.

The political truce is over. On Monday, August 12, Gabriel Attal sent a letter to the leaders of the National Assembly groups. He called for a large parliamentary collation to “find a new path for the National Assembly, through dialogue and overcoming the usual divisions” to “return to the essentials”. Three groups were not invited: the National Rally, Éric Ciotti’s À droite and France Insoumise.

“When there were legislative elections, the Insoumis were Republicans, when it was necessary to help them get elected against the RN…”, deplores Hadrien Clouet, LFI-NFP deputy of Haute-Garonne. In his letter, Gabriel Attal proposes an action pact for the French, built around six priority projects: the restoration of public accounts, the defense of secularism, purchasing power, the environment, security and public services.
