Real heroes. On Thursday, August 8, doctors from the British Olympic team saved the life of the head coach of the Uzbekistan boxing team who was suffering from cardiac arrest, the British newspaper reports The Guardian. Tulkin Kilichev was celebrating Hasanboy Dusmatov’s gold medal victory over the Frenchman Billal Bennama in the corridors of Roland-Garros where the competition was being held, when he collapsed. Not far from there, are the doctor of the British team Harj Singh as well as the physio Robbie Lillis. “We heard screams that didn’t sound like celebration at all. They called for a doctor, for help. Harj was the first one on the scene and I followed with my emergency bag,” Robbie Lillis told the newspaper.

Arriving 30 seconds later, the doctor noticed that his colleague had already started cardiac massage on the Uzbek trainer. “I took out the defibrillator and put the electrodes on as quickly as possible. Once his heart rhythm was analyzed, it was recommended to administer a shock. We first removed the world around him before administering a shock.”continues Robbie Lillis. “At first he didn’t come to, but 20 to 30 seconds later, while Harj continued the cardiac massage, he suddenly regained consciousness, which is great.”he added. Tulkin Kilichev was then taken to hospital, where his condition is now stable.
