Celine Dion Unhappy That Trump Used Her Song From the Movie “Titanic”

“Honestly, THIS song?”: Quebec megastar Celine Dion protested Saturday against the use by Republican candidate Donald Trump’s campaign of her global hit “My Heart Will Go On”, the famous soundtrack of the film Titanic.

Celine Dion’s team and her label Sony Music Entertainment Canada have protested “the unauthorized use of the video, musical performance and an image of Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at a campaign rally for Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance in Montana on Friday night.

“This use or any similar use is neither authorized nor endorsed by Celine Dion… And honestly THIS song?” her team wrote in a message on the singer’s Instagram account.

The 56-year-old artist, who suffers from stiff person syndrome (SPR) and who had not sung live since 2020, launched the Olympic Games in Paris on July 26 by singing “L’hymne à l’amour” by Edith Piaf from the first floor of the Eiffel Tower, in tears, for images that will remain in history.

“My Heart Will Go On” is the song from the movie Titanic by James Cameron released in 1997. First released on the singer’s album “Let’s Talk About Love”, the title became one of the most broadcast in the history of music on radio and television and one of the best-selling with 18 million copies.

Celine Dion won an Oscar, a Golden Globe and four Grammys with this hit.
