A man presented as a wrestler, member of the Egyptian Olympic delegation participating in the Olympic Games, was arrested on the night of Thursday August 8 to Friday August 9 in Paris, suspected of sexual assault, franceinfo learned on Friday from concordant sources.
According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, the 26-year-old suspect was arrested around 5 a.m. in front of Café Oz. He is accused “of having placed a hand on another customer’s buttocks.”
A source close to the case specifies the district in which the alleged events took place. It is the 13th district of the capital, Quai d’Austerlitz. This source also adds that the suspect was drunk, that he is in police custody and that the victim has filed a complaint.
The prosecution has entrusted the investigations to the third judicial police district.
