US Open | Record $75 million to be awarded

Coco Gauff, Novak Djokovic and company will have a record $75 million in compensation at Flushing Meadows this year.

The amount was set at 65 million in 2023, at the last Grand Slam tournament of the season.

The champion and champion will each get $3.6 million, the U.S. Tennis Association announced Wednesday.

This is a 20% increase compared to last year’s 3 million.

The amount is still below what was offered before the pandemic.

In 2019, a victory in the singles final brought in 3.9 million, for both men and women.

Gauff and Djokovic are the defending champions. It was a first major title for the American, but a 24e for the Serbian.

Main draw matches will begin on August 26.

The women’s final will take place on September 7, one day before the men’s final.
