Hochelaga | A man was injured by a bladed weapon during an attack

(Montreal) A man was injured by a stabbing on Tuesday evening during an assault in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough of Montreal.


The Montreal Police Department (SPVM) reports that a call was made to 911 at around 9:21 p.m. regarding a person injured by a stab wound in an alley near Sainte-Catherine and Chambly streets.

Emergency services dispatched to the scene were able to locate one victim, a 39-year-old man with significant injuries to his upper body, caused by a bladed weapon. He was still conscious and breathing when the police discovered him. He was evacuated to a hospital.

The SPVM indicates that the man was likely attacked by more than one individual in the alley. The circumstances are still unknown and a perimeter has been set up to protect the scene.

Forensic technicians must go to the scene to analyze the scene and try to understand the circumstances of this event, while the canine unit must try to find evidence.
