“He has no idea what service is. [de la nation]. Just appointed, on Tuesday, August 6, Kamala Harris’ running mate, Tim Walz, launched a full-scale attack on Donald Trump. During his first rally alongside the Democratic candidate for the White House, in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, east coast of the United States), the governor of Minnesota, a rural state in the Midwest, portrayed the Republican candidate as a retrograde, “too busy serving his own interests” to care about others.

“If Trump has the chance to come back, he will pick up exactly where he left off four years ago, but this time it will be much, much worse,” he charged, castigating a former president who “sows chaos and division”, wish “restrict our freedoms” And “helping the super-rich”. A former professor and American football coach who claims to be a hunter and is outspoken, Tim Walz also criticized the former Republican president’s record. “Make no mistake: violent crime has increased under Donald Trump,” he said. “And that’s without counting the crimes he has committed.”

Faced with the Republican billionaire’s program, Kamala Harris is a candidate capable of “bring back joy” in the country, Tim Walz again pleaded.

With less than three months to go until the election, the duo wants to present themselves as a complementary ticket capable of seducing a very broad electorate: she is a former California prosecutor in the race to become the first black female president of the United States; he is a former National Guard soldier turned teacher, then senator, capable of speaking to the working class. Kamala Harris presents him as “a fighter for the middle classes” And “a patriot”, but also as a benevolent teacher that she willingly calls “coach Walz”.

Legalization of recreational marijuana use, strengthening controls on the purchase of firearms, protection of the right to abortion… Seen as rather moderate, the aspiring vice-president has taken measures in his state labeled progressive. Thus, Donald Trump’s campaign team tried, as soon as his nomination was announced, to categorize him as a “dangerous extremist leftist”.

“Tim Walz’s record is a joke,” even tackled JD Vance, chosen as a Republican running mate by Donald Trump, in front of supporters. That evening, the other duo in the race was also at a rally, in Philadelphia.
