Searches resumed on Tuesday, August 6 in the town of Saulx, in Haute-Saône, to find Lina, 15, who disappeared last September, franceinfo learned from the gendarmerie, confirming information from Est Républicain. These searches are ordered in connection with the exploitation of GPS data from the Ford Puma, in which the teenager’s DNA was recently found.

At least 90 gendarmes are mobilized with canine brigades, investigators from the Criminal Research Institute of the National Gendarmerie (IRCGN) equipped with georadars to probe the ground, investigators from the Strasbourg research section, as well as local gendarmes. This is the same type of search as those carried out last week in the Vosges.

According to the mayor of the town, contacted by France Bleu Besançon, the searches are taking place in the Saulx woods, a forest “dense” located 2 km from the village.

The 15-year-old girl disappeared in Alsace in September 2023. The main suspect in the investigation opened after Lina’s disappearance, identified several weeks ago, committed suicide on July 10. The forty-year-old was due to be tried on July 22 for violent robberies committed in August 2023.
