Alma Dufour, La France Insoumise MP for Seine-Maritime, was the guest of “8h30 franceinfo”, Tuesday August 6, 2024. Absence of nomination to Matignon, candidacy of the New Popular Front, commission of inquiry on the Games… She answered questions from Marie Bernardeau and Bérengère Bonte.
Emmanuel Macron is doing “everything so that the extreme right seizes power”
If Emmanuel Macron “If he wants the far right to seize power in this country, he just has to say so”because “This is exactly the way to do it”castigates Alma Dufour. The Seine-Maritime MP denounces the attitude of the head of state who has not yet appointed a Prime Minister, one month after the second round of the legislative elections.
Alma Dufour accuses Emmanuel Macron “to give the French the impression that voting is useless”. It particularly refers to the use of Article “49.3”THE “freezing of the electoral body, the emergency decision of a dissolution” and the fact that “strength [politique] first place in the legislative elections [soit] not called to government”. “It’s up to Emmanuel Macron to realize that his time is up”she says.
Lucie Castets at Matignon: “Let’s try it”
Alma Dufour maintains her support for the sole candidacy of the New Popular Front for Matignon, embodied by Lucie Castets. “Let’s try it”she says, praising the profile “more technocratic” by Lucie Castets, “which can reassure observers who say that the left in power risks being problematic”.
Alma Dufour nevertheless closes the door to a possible candidacy of former Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve. “It is too oriented towards the centre, (…) it is too far from the balance that we have managed to find between all the forces that make up the New Popular Front”she assures.
Paris 2024: “We are asking ourselves the question of profitability for the national economy”
Alma Dufour confirms La France Insoumise’s desire to set up a commission of inquiry into the Paris 2024 Games. “The French do not appreciate that, under the cover of the great celebration of the Games, we try to make them swallow anything and everything”believes the MP. This commission is motivated by doubts “on the profitability of these Games for the national economy, on colossal investments to make the Seine swimmable”, quote Alma Dufour.
She wants the Commission of Inquiry to hear “business leaders, financial experts and local elected officials” of the “the start of the school year”.
