Israel and Hamas at War, Day 303 | At Least 30 Dead in Israeli Strike on Two Schools

The Gaza Civil Defense announced at least 30 deaths in an Israeli strike on Sunday on two schools located in a school complex in Gaza City, home to thousands of people displaced by the war in the Gaza Strip.

“The number of martyrs” has “risen to 30,” Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassal told AFP, after reporting an initial toll of 25 dead.

The bombing that targeted “the Hassan Salameh and Al-Nasr schools” in Gaza City (North) also left dozens of people injured, some of whom are in serious condition, he added. The victims are mainly women and children, he specified.

The strike targeting the two schools was confirmed by the Israeli army, saying they housed a command and control center for Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist movement against which Israel has been at war in the Gaza Strip since October 7.

On Saturday, an Israeli strike hit another school in Gaza City, killing 10 people, according to the Gaza Civil Defense.

The Israeli military has repeatedly accused Hamas of using civilian facilities as command and control centers or to hide its commanders and fighters. The Palestinian movement denies the accusations.
