Since Saturday morning, August 3, the Assistance publique-Hôpitaux de Paris has been suffering the effects of a computer breakdown at one of its IT hosts, Agence Radio France learned from AP-HP. The breakdown affects almost all of AP-HP’s IT tools, namely “messaging, the main internal applications and telephony of some of its establishments”. Return to normal is expected “for the end of the afternoon”supports this Sunday the AP-HP which explains that the restoration work “are longer than expected.”

This breakdown occurred on Saturday around 11 a.m. at “the service provider responsible for hosting part of its computer servers”. Very quickly, the AP-HP had confirmation that it was neither a cyberattack nor sabotage. The power outage was resolved around 2 p.m. Saturday and will therefore have lasted “about 3 hours”, but the computer equipment in the 38 hospitals in the Paris region suffered the effects for much longer.

In a press release published this Sunday, the AP-HP assures that “Internet access, messaging, telephony and connections between the data center and [son] internal network was restored during the night” from Saturday to Sunday. “It still takes a few hours of work to restore all IT infrastructure and applications.”recognizes the AP-HP.

AP-HP states that “patient care remains assured without risk to their safety.” She admits that “the situation in [ses] hospitals are slowed down, but under control” and specifies that the emergency services are not affected by the breakdown and are therefore operating normally.
