Athletes to watch on Saturday

Here is the list of Canadian athletes who will take part in the competitions on Saturday.

ATHLETICS
1:15 p.m. – Men’s 1,500-meter repechage
1:50 p.m. – Women’s 100-meter semi-final
3:20 p.m. – Women’s 100-meter final
After a sparkling first outing on the purple track in Paris, Quebecer Audrey Leduc (photo) will seek to leave her mark on the history of Quebec and Canadian athletics in the semi-final and then the final of the 100 metres. Her compatriot Charles Philibert-Thiboutot will have his work cut out for him in the 1500 metres repechage earlier in the day.

ATHLETICS
4:35 a.m. – Men’s 100-meter preliminary round
5:50 a.m. – 1er 100 meter lap for men
From 4:05 a.m. – start of the day’s men’s decathlon events
Six-time Olympic medallist Andre De Grasse (photo), a Canadian legend in his sport, will already have the opportunity to get his message across at the start of the 100-metre events. His compatriot Aaron Brown will also be in the running. In the decathlon, we follow the progress of reigning Olympic champion Damian Warner.

SWIMMING
2:30 p.m. – Men’s 100-meter butterfly final
3:08 p.m. – Women’s 200-meter individual medley final
3:58 p.m. – Mixed 4 x 100-meter individual medley relay final
Of course, Canada’s Paris Games queen Summer McIntosh continues to attract attention. We’ll especially be following her quest for a fourth medal in the 200-metre individual medley final. Canadian Olympic medallist Ilya Kharun will also be competing in the 100-metre butterfly.

TENNIS
12:00 p.m. – Félix Auger-Aliassime against Lorenzo Musetti for the bronze medal
Quebecer Félix Auger-Aliassime (photo) certainly found a stronger opponent in Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-final, but he still has the opportunity to bring home a second Olympic medal. After the bronze in the mixed doubles, won with Gabriela Dabrowski, he will face Lorenzo Musetti for the bronze in the individual event.

JUDO
2:00 p.m. – Round of 16 of the team event
10 a.m. – Team event medal round
The truth is that the Canadian team underperformed at the Paris Games, with the obvious exception of Olympic champion Christa Deguchi. The Canadians, including Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard (photo), will be looking to leave a better memory in the team event.

ROAD CYCLING
5:00 a.m. – Men’s Road Race
Derek Gee and Michael Woods each left their mark on the prestigious Tour de France, the former with his 9e place in the ranking in 2024, the second with his stage victory in 2023. The two Canadians will be at the start of the road race at the Paris Games.

EQUESTRIAN SPORTS
4 h – Team dressage – special grand prix
We are once again transported to the sublime Château de Versailles where the Renaissance will be in the spotlight in the team dressage event. We will follow the Quebecers Camille Carier Bergeron and Naïma Moreira-Laliberté (photo).

GYMNASTICS – Individual Finals
10:20 a.m. – Women’s Jump Final
Canadian Ellie Black (pictured) thrilled the country with a stunning sixth-place finish in the all-around competition on Thursday. She’ll be back in action this Saturday in the vaulting event.
