After a race controlled from start to finish, the three French world champions (Joris Daudet in 2011, 2016 and 2024, Sylvain André in 2018 and Romain Mahieu in 2023) achieved a unique performance, since the Tricolores had never won a single men’s medal since the discipline was introduced to the Olympic program in 2008. These three new medals bring the total number of French medals to 36, including 11 gold.
