Sherbrooke | After a suspicious death, a man arrested for drug trafficking

(Sherbrooke) Sherbrooke police arrested a 55-year-old man for drug trafficking as part of their investigation that resulted from a suspicious death that occurred Thursday afternoon in their territory.


In a statement released Friday morning, the police force said the man remains in custody and was due to be interviewed by investigators in the morning.

The investigation began around 1 p.m. Thursday when a Rock Forest resident called 911 to report that two men were unconscious in his home. One of them, a 54-year-old, died, while the other, a 51-year-old, remained in critical condition Friday morning.

In the hours that followed, the various police teams carried out an analysis of the scene and seized narcotics, in addition to arresting the 55-year-old man for trafficking.

Police were able to confirm that the deceased man and the one who is still in critical condition showed no signs of violence and were not known to the police.

The police force is continuing its investigation into this case and is awaiting various analytical feedback relating to the various items seized on site.
