Prime Minister Jean Castex admitted that the health protocol implemented in schools was a “Gaz factory”, leading to test children constantly. “I have heard the concerns expressed by parents, teachers, school principals”, declared the chief executive on the set of 20 hours of France 2, Monday January 10. “We are going to make a number of simplifications: our goal is to keep schools as open as possible”, he added.

Jean Castex announced “three simplification and flexibility measures”. First, “when a positive case is tested in a class (…) we ask all the other children to test themselves. In these cases, we do not immediately ask the parents to come and pick up their child, we will wait for the school trip”, explained the head of government.

Then, if the child is in contact, he will no longer need to do three tests, including a PCR or antigen in the pharmacy. “He will be able to use three self-tests”, said the Prime Minister. VShe three self-tests will be available free of charge in pharmacies from Tuesday, specifies Matignon to France Télévisions.

Finally, parents will no longer be required to produce a certificate for each negative test. “We will ask for a certificate once and for all, to simplify the life of parents and teachers“, he announced. This unique certificate will be available from Friday, adds Matignon.
