Opening Ceremony Stars’ Outfits Are On Display at Dior in Paris

The dresses worn by the stars of the Olympic opening ceremony, Celine Dion, Lady Gaga and Aya Nakamura, are on display in Paris, at the Galerie Dior.

They impressed the whole world. At the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on Friday, July 26, Celine Dion, Lady Gaga and Aya Nakamura captivated with their voices, but also with their outfits. They are on display until September 30.

To sing The Hymn to Love” of Edith Piaf from the first floor of the Eiffel Tower – her first performance in four years – Celine Dion wore a white silk georgette dress, with a high collar, long sleeves, fringes and a train, sparkling because it was covered in sequins and fine pearls.

Other star artists at the ceremony also wore outfits designed by the prestigious French house, a brand of LVMH, the Olympics’ “premium” partner. Aya Nakamura, in a mini-dress made of golden feathers, worn on one shoulder and enhanced with two silk drapes at the back, performed a medley of her songs and those of Charles Aznavour.

The American Lady Gaga sang My feather thing by Zizi Jeanmaire, an emblematic title of French music hall, in a black satin bustier, topped with a short jacket and a long skirt in black and pink feathers, with a plumed headdress.

Also on display at the Galerie Dior in the 8th arrondissement is the eight-metre-long draped dress in the colours of the French flag, blue, white and red, of the opera singer Axelle Saint-Cirel who performed the national anthem, The MarseillaiseThe outfits will be exhibited in Paris, at the Galerie Dior, until September 30.
