The schedule of the candidate of the New Popular Front (NFP) for Matignon, Lucie Castets, is at the heart of the criticisms of the right-wing group in the city of Paris. In a letter to the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office, the Changer Paris group mentions “the existence of a possible breach of his duty of confidentiality”, and a “potential misappropriation of public funds for the purpose of promoting his candidacy and, more broadly, the activities of the NFP”reports Le Figaro Wednesday July 31. “I am currently entitled to paid leave. (…) Fortunately, I am free to use my leave as I wish,” replied the person concerned on Thursday August 1 on RTL.

The 37-year-old senior civil servant, appointed last week by the four NFP parties, is head of the finance department of the Paris city hall. The right is worried about possible “failure to meet its obligations” while she is taking advantage of the summer period to try to establish herself in the political landscape and to obtain from the President of the Republic that he appoints her to Matignon. She “began a full-time, vast media campaign, linking media appearances and visits to the provinces”denounces the group Changer Paris.

According to the Chained Duck, she did not make herself available, but has “took leave until August 30”. “If the information in ‘Le Canard enchaîné’ is correct, Lucie Castets is currently in violation of her duty of confidentiality through her political positions, which exposes her, at the very least, to disciplinary action.”the group also writes.

“I can see that the opposition of the Parisian right is trying to find support points against the New Popular Front. This diverts the debate from the real questions, from the democratic question which is that of forming a government resulting from the political force which came out on top.”argued Lucie Castets. She recalled that her personal situation was “very clear” and assured that the political forces of the NFP were currently paying for his travel.
