The city of Marseille is launching its heatwave plan. Among the measures taken by the municipality is the free use of municipal swimming pools for all until the end of the heatwave, France Bleu Provence reported on Wednesday, July 31.
In addition, the Catalans beach will be open 24/7. Usually, it remains open at night only on Saturdays. The Communal Social Action Center (CCAS) is activating its monitoring unit to identify vulnerable people and provide them with assistance, if necessary.
Bouches-du-Rhône will be placed on orange heatwave alert from 12 noon on Thursday, while 40 departments are already affected on Wednesday evening.
