Compilation, new song and new album for Father John Misty

There is no age limit for a compilation of your best tracks, you just need to have enough good songs to offer to your audience.

And at 43, Josh Tillman, known for 12 years under the stage name Father John Misty, estimates that 17 of them deserve to take the path of this oddly titled Greatish Hits: I Followed My Dreams and My Dreams Said to Crawl, compilation which will be entitled to a physical release on August 16 and which is already digitally offered on the artist’s bandcamp.

The songs selected are taken from the five albums created under his pseudonym Father Misty, to which is added the single Real Love Baby (released in 2016) and a new song of more than eight minutes, I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All, with jazz-rock sounds and acerbic lyrics (“Now with your genius for picking battles/It’s no wonder every helmet is too small/I guess time just makes fools of us all”).

This will also be found on the American singer’s next album, as he announced on Wednesday, which will be released in the fall.
